People
I’m drafting thoughts at 2am due to one child falling out of bed and the other waking as a result. Parenting seems to be a long journey of not sleeping.
People are fragile, complex results of their genetic makeup and family history; people are beautiful, magic, and annoying. Some fall out of their beds and scream. People can be crazy.
A few weeks ago, we created a business. People can be creative.
One of my people (B) told me that my face was “not good enough” after I shaved my beard last night. People can be rude.
Another of my people (Q) told me “I love you” this morning. More time spent with people results in affinity; closeness and understanding are achieved though time together. People can be kind.
I spent three hours in a river with my two sons yesterday. We needed to give the mom some space; the mom eventually came to join us. Memories were created. People can grow.
People are social in their need for other humans. I’m an introvert; my wife is an extrovert. We need each-other. People can attach.
People are thousands of things, but I think the need for connection is paramount to their definition. Neither friendship or commerce can exist without people.
It can be hard to live with them, but impossible to live without.
